Adidas Gazelle first appeared on the market in 1966 as training shoes, available in two versions: with a transparent herringbone sole for indoor sports and with a microcellular rubber sole for general training. This model evolved from the earlier adidas "Olympiade" model from the early 60s and quickly became a lifestyle icon, later reintroduced by adidas Originals in 2001 as a classic street model.
