Nike Air Max Plus was designed by Sean McDowell and first released in 1998. McDowell was inspired by beach vacations in Florida, sketching wavy lines and palm trees that became the signature TPU cage and gradient upper of the shoe. Originally created for running in collaboration with Foot Locker, it evolved into a staple of lifestyle and streetwear, particularly in Europe and Australia.
