Nike Air Max 95 first appeared on the market in 1995, designed by Sergio Lozano, who was then working in the Nike ACG department. Its layered upper was inspired by the anatomy of the human body (muscle fibers, vertebrae, ribs) and erosion in nature. Visible Air units were introduced for the first time in the forefoot. The shoe quickly became an icon in running, and later in street fashion and hip-hop culture, especially in Europe and Japan. Air Max 95 Ultra is a modernized, lighter version of this classic.
