The adidas 4DFWD line debuted in 2021 as one of the first running shoes with a fully 3D-printed midsole, developed in collaboration with Carbon 3D using athlete data and computer design. The 4DFWD 2 model is an updated version designed to provide a smoother forward motion thanks to the lattice structure in the midsole that transforms vertical impact into forward movement, combined with an improved upper for support and comfort.
